Amy, you got it done!
Wow, that’s an original car? Beautiful. I think you said museum piece somewhere and you’re right. How many miles?

Is this passed down through the family or how did you come by this car?
How many miles on it?

Very. gently used.
You probably know these things but thought i’d mention:
Make sure and keep your classic type Antifreeze fresh and use a good flat tappet oil. I like VR1, have used Pengrade 1. Do not allow it to overheat. Bad things can happen to these engines if they overheat. Premium gas of course with these high compression engines.
Be aware your idiot lights are not like gauges that warn you something is becoming an issue. They are telling you it IS an issue and you need to do something immediately. I think your temp light comes on at something like 230 and the oil light comes on at about 5# I think. Check your shop manual. Both are problems. If your Generator/Charging light comes on, off idle that is, you are not charging for some reason. That reason Might be that your fan belt broke and is no longer driving the water pump. Check.
Have fun, looks like you are, nice car.

I use a special antifreeze that is made specifically for aluminum engines. its the gold bottle made by zurtex. phosphate free. its safe to 250, I have a temp gun I use to chrck my temp, it never goes past 165 so far.
I'm very careful with my cars. I just did a safety check up and had old parts replaced. my list had over 20 things on it. all new brakes hoses, wheel cylinders brake flush drums turned shoes relined,, tranny flush new gasket needed water pump so that was done. changed battery cables back to original spring clamp made according to engineer original specs, found an original master cylinder thats getting rebuilt so everything my car came with in 62 is back on.
so many more things were done too many to list
had my dash clock and nos original buick tissue box installed too.. I will definitely love and take care of my treasure.. thank you for your advice

Good work.
Careful with the modern long life antifreeze like Dexcool and from what i read the type you are using. Can be very hard on old fashioned seals and some gaskets, despite the fact that they are made for aluminum. I used to use Dexcool and stopped after reading about the problems. Some do use it and swear by it.
Most recommend sticking with a “Classic” antifreeze like the Green made for old vehicles, check your Ph and change every 2 years.
