Re: 1962 Buick Skylark Convertible
Started putting on the chrome and waiting for my new weatherstripping.
The weatherstripping just came in and look at the cost???
Those are USD so $1316 CDN and then another $72 CDN for tax and border charges...GT of $1388 CDN
Just seems like a lot for what one gets....us poor Canadians LOL.
I couldn't justify using the old weatherstripping after the new paint job, too bad I missed two more pieces i need to now send for.....$$$$$

Re: 1962 Buick Skylark Convertible
So I went on to the interior now getting my hydraulic/electric top system working with ATF operating very nice and smooth.
Starting to repair/build/paint the door cards. I have the red trim #177 interior and spent many hours trying different paints until I think I have found the perfect rattle can matches....I hope!!
The Rustoleum matches the metal red trim and will be topped with clear coat. SEM is a perfect match for the red vinyl and seems to not come up shinny which is nice. The white is to cover the 1/8" hardy board to help prevent water damage on the window sides of the cards.

Well I think the car is done for now, interior is all back in and looking good for rattle can paint matches on the steel parts as well as the vinyl. Sadly though that the vent seals from SteelRubber didn't fit correctly and they seem to not want to address their issue, good quality, pricey and no customer service as of now!!!!

Re: 1962 Buick Skylark Convertible
Steel Rubber can't supply the correct vent window seals for the Skylark but they gave me a credit on them. The fix was to fill the 3/8" gap from window frame to vent seal with black silicone, worked well. I could not find anyone else to supply new vent seals so it is what it is
