Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
Ran out of contact cement with one pc to go -- go figure lol Ill have to finish tomorrow after a quick trip to town I guess.
Glad I picked up 5 yards worth of carpet -- I don't have much left but I think it's just enuf to do the underside of the trunk lid and the missing pc along the spare.
Still have a small surprise to share that I hadn't discussed. Share that with you all tomorrow when I remove the panels for the final time -- leave you guys with an all but finished shot even though the lighting really made takin' a picture of a basically black trunk very difficult.

Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
Finished and took these around 9am this morning, been on the choppa since screwin around and hadn't had a chance to post.
Also forgot to take a pic of the storage cubby that I built into the floor but the dr side floor panel is sectioned and there is a compartment below it to put my detail sprays and towels.
Probably will add a trunk light and plan to add a grey vinyl wrapped trim ring to cover screws on the false wall and cover the trunk lid itself as well in time but I want to get the car on the road 1st -- that's a weekend project that can be done anytime.

Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
Thanks guys!! Shocked myself, it turned out better than I expected!
Got all the weatherstripping finished today -- didn't take any pics though lol -- just to determined to get it finished to stop every time to do so
Rear weatherstripping was glued in using Pliogrip -- window is providing the pressure to hold it in place till the glue sets. Xing my fingers it does the trick!
Will keep everyone posted.

Ran out to the garage this morning and checked on the rear windows -- looks like the Pliogrip did its job the weatherstripping is tighter than a bulls ass during flyseason! All in all things turned out really well. Really satisfied so far -- next step will be to give'r a bath and see if I have any water intrusion.
Hoping to get the car in for tint this weekend too.

Nice! Where did you get this Pliogrip from? Assuming I am going to need the same stuff when I do my seals.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Oh, BTW... my 2 seal sets that were on backorder are finally being shipped! YEAH!!!!!

Chris--
You've got a no-post car so I don't suspect you'll need the Pliogrip. I used it on the rear qtr windows and the flexible run channel but if you did ( or someone else ) the Pliogrip should be available from your local bodyshop supplier or online. Seems to have fit the bill nicely.
I'll take some good pics of everything this next weekend coming up after the tint is done. Right now I've got to figure out what to do, if anything, about a couple of scratches in the door glass ( they were there before I started this ), gonna call a couple of local glass shops and see if they can polish them out -- if not then I might try it myself and if it doesn't do any good then I'll order new glass down the road and have them re-tinted, not the end of the world.
And yeah to the BO being shipped!!! That's the last of your list before you get started too, right? When you get to a point you need some advice give me a shout. I'll help in any ways possible.
Josh

Josh,
That's right. I didn't even think about that.
I have my fair share of scratches in the glass right now. Not too concerned about it as it just adds to the "seasoned" look I am going for.
YEAH! pretty much; in terms of the seal replacement. Still have a lot to do in the "get it up and running" phase. The 52 Styleline we were working on is now done! Hoping to start working on the Skylark here soon and get moving!
Here's a pic of the 52:

Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
Thanks man! I am definitely not taking credit for it. My buddy Ed is the owner of the shop and did the majority of the work. The only part of the original frame that was used was the rails. He built everything else so we could bag it. Lot of detail to the car, that's for sure. :-)
I think it was Eastwood's Hot Rod black.
He is super happy! When it originally came into the shop, it was just for a motor, tranny, and rear end swap. 2 years and a **** ton of money later, here's the finished product.

The styleline is one of the next cars I want, and that is a fantastic example of one. Man, you are in good hands at that shop.
Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
Definitely turned out good!
Hes my welder. I'm not that good at welding so I have him do it. Everything else I will do.

It wasn't all the windows he had concerns about -- just the back glass, he indicated he would have a hard time getting the film the correct size because he'd make the pc from the outside and that the trims don't 100% line up from outside to inside -- I, too, don't think it would be that hard but I don't tint and don't care to try either lol -- it's really not that high on my list of things to be done anyways and if all of them can't be done then I choose none lol
Yes, I'm talking about the front disc upgrade, I want to do it so I feel more comfortable with the misses driving it around.

I gotcha. Ive heard other tinters say that but its usually because they just don't want to do it and its a cop out....
Nice! I did it on mine. Pretty easy to do but I did have to do some "modifications" in order to make it work 100%.
Others on here had no issues.

ME TOO Chris!
Used old door card as template -- trimmed a little for fitment and mocked up passenger side. Once I was comfortable with layout etc... a little time spent with the flush trim bit on the router table and BAM both door cards done and ready for covering!!
