REALLY!! Wow! Ok well I'll have to look into and see -- my ma's got a 2014 LaCrosse I can look at later tonight. I really like the look of the 3.5" one I have that has the color in it though too - would be a tough choice -- color vs size

Yeah, I know the one I have on my '15 GS is pretty big. Probably close to that size. I thought of you using the newer black tri-shield since your car has the murdered out look to it. :-)

This is the one Id really like to find -- it has a sweet mesh look behind it and would likely be the big style like you're suggesting but it's only in the chinese market for some reason lol
Your thoughts do make sense about the black tri -- you're really making this tuff on me dood! LOL

Passenger side floor is done, spare is secured and accessible. Passenger side beauty template is complete as well -- tomorrow I'll probably transfer them to hardboard and then I should be ready to start covering some things -- hope to have the trunk complete this weekend if all goes well.

Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
Will it?!
Seriously though -- my plan is to get this done, then get the window stripping done and windows back in so I can get them tinted before I put the interior all back in. That way I don't have to worry about the installer trampling the new carpet and I think from his standpoint having the back seat out will make it easier on him as well.
Then I'll get the carpet laid and door / sail panels redone. Should come together pretty quick once the trunk is done -- for the most part the trims are complete and ready for install - just need to cut the flexy stuff for the pass qtr window.

Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
It should.
I am still waiting on seals from OPGI. They still owe me the roof rail seal and the division post seal. Not going to do any of my seals until I get the car back to my shop.
Are you getting someone to redo your interior and install it? I am definitely looking forward to seeing the trunk done.
Meant to ask, what exhaust are you running? I know with mine, I am planning on just running a 3" single shot coming right off the turbo DP. Not sure what muffler I am gonna run yet.

They are sooooo slow -- that's my biggest gripe with OPGI -- every time I've ever ordered through them it's taken a minimum of 7 days to get my stuff. Hope you get your stuff soon.

Nope all me bruddah! I'm going to redye the vinyl on the sail panels and upper doors. Make new door cards and instead of the carpet on bottom of the doors Im going to wrap it in the same black vinyl I did the rear package tray. As for the carpet, I figure its best to let the tinter climb around in a car that only has the bench seat to worry about -- should make his life a little easier and it will take the worry away for me -- no sense in having them trample it before I get to enjoy it's freshness.

I honestly don't know lol -- its a single pipe with a glass pack ( not sure on size ) -- sounds good though -- Ive had several people tell me while sitting at a stop light it has just the right amount of sound and note for an old car

Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
Yeah, I can attest to that now. It took about a week for me to get the majority of my order but the other 2 seals are STILL on backorder.
Nice! I am planning on just buying all the Tempest stuff from AMES performance/Summit. Which carpet did you end up getting and from where? I am going to have to purchase that as well. I'm hoping that they give extra carpeting on the sides to make up for my taller trans/DS tunnel this car is going to have. Yeah, no reason to take that freshness for granted!
With a single exhaust, I definitely want to go to 3". Nice to see a little larger pipe coming out of one side. Planning on running it out the passenger's side; just like my GN.

Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
I will go the AMES route if things go south on the door redo lol, trying to keep the original patterns in the car though.
As for the carpet I went with Trim Parts ESSEX plush, its the same stuff as ACCs highest grade and for 1/2 the cost. Molded for the pan. Spent $190 shipped. With a new trans tunnel though you may have issues with the molded stuff -- might be better off using Ozite Superflex II carpet and just do it the old way, I assume you plan on gluing it down anyways right?
Totally understand your desire for the single 3" -- I'd want that huffer to breathe the best it could too!

Re: Josh's 2016 Upgrade Mega-Thread
Figured for the price of the components, cant go wrong.
I am going to have to look into them. Yeah, that was my concern. I would rather have a molded carpet but raising that tunnel isn't going to help trying to use a molded one. Yeah, I would probably glue it down if I went the Superflex way.
Definitely! The GN has a single shot 4" stainless exhaust on it! Its like sewer pipe!

Here ya go Keith!!

This is the best "un-molded" carpet available for auto interiors -- all the custom fab shops use this stuff.

Truly appreciated bruddah!
Considering this is my 1st trunk build to this extent I'm surprising myself -- really happy with the way it's coming together.
The closer it gets the more I want to keep goin' wish I didn't have to work tomorrow or I might've just pulled a late one and basically finished it.

Keith
Thanks Keith! Should have this whipped tonight or early tomorrow and if all goes well I think I will have the windows & related weatherstripping completed. Then I can drop it off for tint! Woot woot! Should start coming together pretty quick, door panels will be the biggest obstacle from here on out.
