1962 Red Skylark Convertible
First time dipping my toe in to do a restore. Family car on the in-law side. Been sitting for years. Engine runs rough, some body dings, carpet roached. Planning to strip it down to see what's hiding.

I have been working on the car a few hours a week since middle of September. These pictures get you caught up on the work so far as I just removed the engine this past weekend. Will be spending time on the engine and removing more components from the car to get it fully exposed. Still inspecting all the pieces for continued use or replacement.

Sure not wasting anytime here, keep up the pace!! What was the canister on the drivers front inner fender?

That was the first thing I said when I took off the fender. The power brakes use a air vacuum process to generate the power. The canister is the air tank for supporting the system. The tubes are connected from the engine to the brake pump and to the canister for the air.

Well it doesn't look like new in there that's for sure.
But should clean up okay. What part of the states is it from?
Be sure to soak the head bolts and rocker assembly bolts before you attempt to remove them, they may be galled up pretty good!! (Steel into aluminum)

Kentucky. Funny thing, while somewhat surprised, I'm not disappointed. I'm rather excited that the car needs my help.
