700R4 transmission swap Empty 700R4 transmission swap

I want to swap out the dual path transmission in a '62 Skylark (215 V8) with a 700R4. Has anyone done this? Expected issues are modifying transmission tunnel, moving transmission support cross-member, and length of front section of drive shaft.

You'll also need to get an adapter plate -- the 215 has a very unique engine to trans bolt pattern.  You can get the adapter from here...

No sense in keeping the old driveshaft when doing this swap convert over to a 1 pc. After modding the tunnel you shouldn't have any issues with this.
