Carburetor
I'm starting on my 63 skylark. It has the aluminum v8 with the quadrajet 4 jet. Was wondering if I should rebuild it or go with an edelbrock or Holley. I just want to tool around in the car and fix it up as I go, just wasn't sure if those carbs rebuild well.

Re: Carburetor
The 4GC can be rebuilt and it will work just fine. Just make sure to get a kit that is ethanol safe.
In this thread he talks about a kit he used for his 4GC -- https://skylark616263.forumotion.com/t84-carb-rebuild-kits
If you want a little bump in performance the 500cfm Eddy seems to be the carb swap of choice.
Haven't heard or seen a holley on our cars so no info to give.
Can't really go wrong with either setup as long as they are mechanically sound.
