Has anyone used the LED tail lights?
I keep seeing these in autozone each time I am there...

Does the light look any different? I would imagine it is brighter (safer), and be more efficient, but I do not want it to look too "tunerish". I was curious if anyone has seen them on a classic car.

Much brighter and will last alot longer BUT alot of times if they are used for turn signals you will need a load resistor or the turn signal will blink crazy fast. Im switchin' over all my lights to leds in coming days will be buying them from www.superbrightleds.com -- much better quality then AZONE. The dash will be SOOOOOO much easier to see.

Let me know how the switchover goes. I didn't think about using them in the dash. That website is gold- having the right part is great. Are you using the 1 LED bulbs for the dash? You will not need the 5 LED towers, right?
Re: Has anyone used the LED tail lights?
Im at work right ATM and don't have the list I made up ( $150+ of LEDS ) I wanted to order but Im pretty sure these were the one's I intended for the dash -- I want it to be ALOT brighter than at is presently + I don't like the brown light conventional bulbs put out -- gonna go cool white

I like it. How soon are you planning on doing this conversion?

Well I totaled my daily driver last week and am just now getting things completely sorted out -- purchased a vehicle on Sat and am going through the final steps -- once that's complete Ill probably place my order within the next week or so. Ill keep you posted -- it won't be long.

Just ordered all the LEDs except tail/turns - will keep this thread posted when they arrive, before and after pics too. Also ordered some smoked out H4 headlights -- will start another thread for those when they show too.

Re: Has anyone used the LED tail lights?
I tried to use the LEDs that plug into the stock dash sockets. I can't identify why, but they wouldn't work for me. I had issues with most of them not working (only my LH turn signal and one of my IP lights worked). I returned the bulbs and everything was back to operational.
Someone told me that LEDs were directional, so you had to make sure you had the polarity right. I have not confirmed this. I just wanted my IP lights to work, so I swapped the original bulbs back.

I've put in a few LED's and that seems to be the case, polarity wrong=no worky

LEDs by design flow electricity in only one direction -- in a nutshell that's what a diode ( the "D" in LED ) does. It's pole specific. Kinda like a backflow preventer. If it's an array of LEDs that rule doesn't always apply.
