I recently bought some moog springs to replace my rears but they probably won't work for you as I have a pretty heavy load in the trunk now with all the stereo equipment I've added.

From my experience however you have two options

#1 -- buy from oldbuickparts.com, eaton spring, or customsprings.com ( and pay a hefty premium ) or

#2 -- pull your old ones, measure the the overall height unsprung, measure the diameter of the spring winding and the wire thickness.  Do some figuring on your sprung and unsprung weights, and research and figure out what will work for you.

Here's moog's spring info

http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/universal_coil_springs.asp

IIRC I purchased #5600s for the rear.  They ended up being listed as front springs for a late 70's mustang lol -- Im happy with the ride quality and the height is about perfect -- probably will cut off a half coil or two though to get my height just right.

FYI on the rears, one end of the spring is "squared", the other is "tangential".  Not sure on the fronts -- they are slated for replacement but I'm going to do that at the same time I do discs upfront.

We bought a set of stock springs from Fusick Olds. Might be the same springs for Skylarks/Specials. They use a family shop that makes springs to original specs. They were "reasonable" and are shown in the, I think current, 50C Cutlass catalog at $165 per axle set.

Yea see that to me is premium, the others I mentioned earlier are in the same cost range. Moog set cost me $90 by doing a little research first. Just depends how much time you want to spend with it I guess. Smile

Thanks for the feedback i really appreciate........but it seems like no one can come up with a part number that fit.
My coil springs are still nice for the usage i get for the car. ....My problem is that i recently installed new wheels and tires on the skylark.
i got 175/70 r14 on a set of daytons that i got from a friend for cheap. I took a ride lately to notice that the tires are rubbing a little in the fenders when i turn because of the offset.
I thought about getting new springs to bring the car to that Original height because my springs are probably sagging a little because of the years.
I also thought about adding some spacers in the springs to get that inch needed.....im still not sure but anyway if you can come up with an idea, im all ears. Thanks

Click the button that looks like a picture w/ a diskette in front of it ( above the text field, in the tool bar ).  Then hit "select files", choose the picture(s) you want.  Hit send all.  Then hit Insert All.  Viola pictures added as part of the body of your text.
