Where are you from?

Post by Bill on Sat Dec 27, 2014 11:50 am

I thought if we knew where we are all from it might be easier to do some meet-ups even if they are local. So I created this thread to see where everyone is from. I am from a small town called Oregon, IL. It is right next to Byron (10 miles) where the Meltdown Drags are held every year (for those of you who know what that is). It is located in North Central IL.

Hi, my name is Doug and I'm from Warroad, MN - upper NW corner about 6 miles from Canadian border and on the shores of Lake of the Woods. Recently purchased a 3-owner 63 Skylark hardtop coupe. Got original owners manual and registration cards showing owner history. Car appears to be all original (except for tires & a hose or two) - still has the original spare & jack in the trunk & what appears to be original plugs/wires/cap, etc. Only thing that doesn't work is the shift indicator light & the washer fluid pump. Plan to keep it as original as I can. Body is pretty decent on it, few blisters on the hood and a little bubbling on LH quarter panel but is solid as a rock all over. Glad I found this site - it's been helpful already just reading thru some of the discussions.

Post by Buwicked on Sun Jun 26, 2016 9:17 pm

hi all.....my name is hugo. im from montreal, canada.
im probably one of the rare, if not the only one,
north of the border on this forum. i drive a 62 skylark hardtop
and ive never seen another one here, even in huge car shows and expositions.
mine has the alum V8 215 with all available options for that model year.
car is original and i try hard as i can to keep it stock.
i bought an extra 215 with a dual path a few years ago just in case.
i rebuilt the tranny and its ready to ride, and plan on rebuilding the engine
some other time...anyway, im kind of far for possible meetings,
but its always nice to have a chat with you to talk about our rides.....

Nice - welcome aboard. Let us know what help you need, since you don't have any resources up north, from the sounds of it!
