Taller than 3.36 rear end Empty Taller than 3.36 rear end

I've been looking at this for a while. a 5 sp conversion is a lot of work. I already have a nice shifting Muncie in it but the final drive of 3.36 is way too short for cruising. From what I have read, a 'C' differential is common which is what I have 3.36:1. There is a 3.08 'A' and a a 3.32 'B' differential which are somewhat common. Dad claims he had a '61 with a 2.78 init. I saw one on ebay with a 3.08 and should have bought it. Anyone have a lead? The chassis manual shows ratios from 2.78 to 4.30. My car had a 4.30 posi when new, but the clutch packs and spider gears gave up the ghost 40 years ago. Besides, I feel a 4.30 would be un-drivable on the streets. I still have the diff, though.

Anyone have a lead on a 3.08 or 2.78 gear set or complete rear end?
