Yup, same place. Wonder why the lower hose port on Champion Rad is buried into my oil filter? Now, I know I don't have the normal size filter on my 300; maybe that's the reason. No mind though... planning on running a remote oil filter kit on her anyhow.

It's not the same -- the 231, 300, 400, 430, & 455 all come off the timing cover at an angle towards the front passenger corner of the car, the 215 ( or at least mine ) comes out straight down from the timing cover.  It's behind my alternator bracket.

Got the fans and amps mounted and the wiring done tonight with the exception of the speaker wires and I'm waiting on a pair of female to 2 male rca splitters.  The USA-630 ( and all others like this that I'm aware of ) only have front and rear line outs so Im going to split the front set into two channels and use the rear exclusively for the sub.  Not the way I'd prefer but gotta learn to live with what's there if you wanna have a certain look I guess.

Here's a pic of the spaghetti noodle -- the wiring will be tidy'd up abit and 100% finished ( less the splitters tomorrow night )

Looks real good Josh!

That be the issue then. Wasn't aware that the 215 oil filter came straight out.

Put the little guy on it this evening. Gave me a little more room. We shall see.

Made alot of progress this weekend but don't have alot pics to show.

Ordered new "Essex" grade carpet in Black from Trim Parts yesterday for $190.00 -- this is the nicest carpet you can get for our cars -- think Mercedes/BMW quality. Will report on it when it shows.

Both wing windows are completed including the run channel on the door glass side being glued on.  They turned out very nice, so much better than before.  Once I had a plan the rebuild on them was pretty easy.

Got three of the four outer sweeps attached the chrome mouldings ( ran out of 1/8" ss rivets ).  **Note** these have to be trimmed to fit.

Got all the inner sweeps installed.

Got one of the rear window flexible window runs cut to fit -- will glue in place once I'm ready to re-install window so I can use it to keep pressure on till glue sets.  ** Using Pliogrip autobody adhesive and sealer for this BTW **

Rear speakers and sub is operational -- sounds great just need to make some adjustments to settings/gains.  Need to wait till the door speakers are re-installed though.

Installed this slick upper radiator hose clamp! afro

One of my favorites parts of the weekend however was the placement of this sweet 3M carbon fiber  vinyl -- been holding on to this stuff for this application for over a year -- looks soooo nice compared to the scratched up paint!  Probably will put this on the top of the speedo housing too once I get to that point.  Needs to fingerprints wiped off but no reason right now.

Appreciate it Chris!

Yes, I used the 1/8" rivets on the outers and think it's the way to go IMO.  Very clean, looks good, and the hold on them is great.  I'll snap a pic or two when I finish the last one in the next few days.

The sweeps look good -- hard to complain compared to what I had.  The inners however could be better -- they install like the originals but I think they could be a little tighter to the door frame.  The have waves in them so you get uneven gaps in places, just the nature of the beast I guess.

The CF does look awesome doesn't it! I've been planning on doing this since about 2 weeks after owning the car but decided to wait till I was replacing the sweeps. Glad I did too cuz I was able to wrap into the window cavity and place the sweeps over it.

I haven't really taken mine out of the box yet.

How do the inner ones attach?

The inners are held to the door with little clips -- in fact one of them came off the sweep -- I ended up using the Pliogrip to glue it back on. Thankfully it was the very back one on one of the rears so it got sandwiched between the door frame and one of the rear window guides that I also forgot to mention I re-mohaired.

Decided I'm going to tint the windows while they are out too -- trying to decide between 5%, 15% or possibly even the chrome tint -- thoughts? I'll pay someone to do the back window though -- I don't want to do that one, I'll leave it to a pro.

Nice. Looking forward to doing mine.

Want to get all my other stuff done. Lot of work ahead of me.

I think the car will look good with tinted windows. Definitely fit the style of your car.

Well I got a lot of work done on the trunk this weekend but I don't really have anything to show right at the moment, the false wall has been cut and fitted.  The false floor is basically done, just need to finish covering the spare wheel -- most of the work has been pulled out for one reason or another.  Hope to have some pics of some sort by the end of this coming week.

Carpet for it all will be here by Wednesday.

Got the new carpet from Trim Parts for the interior Friday but it's sitting in a box right now.  cheers

Blah blah blah lol -- Im tired  Sleep  --- talk to you guys later!

Josh

Couple of pix of the trunk, rabbeted the backs of the panels so the carpet/vinyl wraps nicely -- all I need to do now is make the spare side cover, a couple of beauty panels for the sides, and some accents -- then I can cover with carpet and vinyl. Looks like a nice weekend coming up so I'm hoping to have this project all but whipped by end of the day Sunday -- then I can get back to the interior of the car! lol!

Make sure your amps have fresh air or they will overheat as they get warm to start with.

Yep -- took that into consideration. Each one has an intake fan and an exhaust fan running across them from front to back -- additionally, the amps are actually mounted on 1" spacers so they sit above the plywood bottom to allow the moving air to run all around them. What a Face

LOL -- I'm not so sure about the audio talents but it's definitely coming together nicely. I went out to the garage at 530a this morning and got this template made for the DR side beauty panel. I'm hoping I can get it and the spare tire stuff done up tonight when I get home. We shall see...

You must've read my mind lol I was gonna do some accents on both sides of the sub that would be just be some simple crescent moon type shapes to give the panel some depth and was thinking about looking for a emblem off a car that I would just recess into the center of the center floor panel -- thoughts? The size of the emblem is my concern -- I don't want it to look chincy...

Any idea how big it is?

This one here is 3.5" diameter -- it's what I have on hand lol
