shock part numbers
Hi,
Does anyone happen to have the part numbers for the front & rear shocks for a 63 Skylark? Local auto parts place is having a heck of a time getting me correct ones.
Thanks,
Doug

Re: shock part numbers
Good luck and let us all know if you figure something out that works -- I spent a fair bit of time trying to find shocks and springs for my 61 and came up pretty empty except for this place....

Pretty pricey stuff.

Re: shock part numbers
Classicbuicks.com has them for roughly the same price - PN# SA50170 for front & SA50171 for rear

Re: shock part numbers
I'm trying to start collecting the bits to re-rubber the front end...
I'll look through the records, but if you are willing to make 2 brackets, the front shocks are more 'available' and not 100.00 a set. On my car, my dad was able to find shocks of the correct length but with a stud at top instead of a bracket. To use them, he made 2 brackets. They are 1/4" thick strap with 3 holes in them. I'll go through the records tonight and see what I can find. Otherwise, I'll have to see if I can match something up with the same lengths. I am sure it will be easier today than back in the 80s when Dad did this previously.
Edit. I went through the records and found nothing. I'll have to take one off and see if I can get a number or measure them...
